Description
Description | Opportunity TransLink currently owns, operates, and maintains the Pattullo Bridge, and is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of people, goods, and services across it. In their June 2014, Regional Transportation Investments – A Vision for Metro Vancouver – the Mayor’s Council on Regional Transportation identified that the Pattullo Bridge replacement will be a “new, four-lane bridge, primary funded by user pricing. The $1.377-billion Pattullo Bridge Replacement Project will provide improvements for everyone using the bridge and create thousands of jobs and opportunities for British Columbians. The DBF project is set to have a finance component of CAD 300m of the project’s total 1.37bn construction costs, which will be repaid by the province once the development reaches substantial completion. The project will be funded and owned by the Province of British Columbia. It will be delivered on behalf of the Province by the Transportation Investment Corporation (TI Corp.). Construction of the new Pattullo Bridge will be facilitated by the Province’s Community Benefits Agreement. Community benefits include job and training opportunities for people in the local area and the increased participation of apprentices and workers traditionally under-represented in the construction trades. |
