Paudash Street Reconstruction

The project will rehabilitate approximately two kilometers of Paudash Street between Cowe Street and Lakeshore Road in Hiawatha, Ontario. The work will involve: re-grading the gravel shoulders; improving drainage by replacing 30 culverts underneath the road and installing a 200 meter perforated high-density subdrain on the north side; and resurfacing the road with asphalt. A new, two kilometre, multi-use pathway will also be installed along the north side of the roadway with 40 street lights and pet waste stations. Additionally, the project will also pave a new parking lot to support resident usage of the new trail. The project will improve safety for drivers, cyclists and pedestrians, address drainage issues, facilitate active transportation and extend the life of the roadway.
