_x000C_Paul Maitland International (PMI or the company) is one of the largest furniture manufacturers in Southeast Asia. The company manufactures high quality European style furniture for export under the trade names of Theodore Alexander and Atelier De La Madeleine. PMI is seeking IFC’s assistance with an investment project that involves predominantly the expansion of permanent working capital and the refinancing of short-term debt for its manufacturing plants in Vietnam. PMI manufacturing operations are concentrated in two factory buildings located in the Ho Chi Minh Export Processing Zone (HEPZ), Vietnam. The older of the factories known as Theodore Alexander Ho Chi Minh Limited (TAHL) is a 770,000 ft2 facility constructed in 1996 on land leased from the HEPZ Authority. The second factory known as Saigon Fine Furniture (SFF) is a 550,000 ft2 facility completed in 2004 immediately adjacent to TAHL. In addition, the company operates a modern saw mill and a 30,000 square foot ceramics casting and foundry facility known as TA2 in the industrial zone of Thuan An district 9 kms north of Ho Chi Minh City.
