Pauquachin Ardmore Kitchen and Servery Renovation

The project will renovate the Pauquachin Ardmore Kitchen and Servery for the Pauquachin First Nation in North Saanich. To help the community be prepared and equipped to ensure the food security of its Members. Nutrition and food security is a key concern for the Pauquachin First Nation. Pauquachin currently supports its members with a Good Food Box Program. This program focuses on providing 386 members (236 adults and 150 children) on and off Reserve with fresh fruits and vegetables, however, it has been limited in its ability to provide other foods for full nutritional meals. Pauquachin is developing additional programs to provide affordable, nutritious traditional meals to Members daily. The new programs will include a meal delivery service to Elders and in-service hot meals for all Members. These programs would be run out of the Ardmore Kitchen and Servery. The project works include: -appliance installations; -fire suppression upgrades; -backup generator; -plumbing and electrical upgrades; -cabinets and countertop and lighting; -ice machine; and -flooring.
