Pauquachin First Nation - Legacy Gathering Space

The project will increase access to community and culture through the construction of the Pauquachin Legacy Gathering Place, this is a space for the expression and exploration of traditional culture and history of the Coast Salish and WSÁNEC peoples. The project works will include: - New unheated Big House (longhouse), approximately 7,739 sq.ft., consisting of a cedar shell, covered entry plaza and foyer, ceremonial hall with compacted dirt floor area and perimeter wood bleachers and decking, change rooms, fire sprinkler system, and electrical; - New heated and fully serviced Band Hall, approximately 9,832 sq.ft. total between ground level and mezzanine levels, consisting of a pre-engineered shell, 400-person dining hall with gymnasium-style sprung-wood floor, commercial kitchen, washrooms, offices, storage, and HVAC/utility room; - New roof-mounted solar photovoltaic arrays approximately 256 m2 (76.8 kW), and back-up generator; - Landscaping, site finishing, pathways, and lighting; and, - All related works.
