The Honduran company Energía Básica, S.A. (ENERBASA), a subsidiary of Grupo Lufussa, announced the development of a 24-MW solar power plant located at the community of Pavana, Choluteca. In September 2014, the EPC contract was awarded to the American company Sybac Solar, while the equipment supplier chosen was the Chinese company Yingli Green Energy. Construction works commenced in September 2014 and were concluded in April 2015. The investment was estimated at US$ 60 million. Financial closure was achieved with a financing deal signed with the financial institutions G&T Continental de Guatemala, BAC Credomatic and Ficensa, in addition to the sponsor's equity investment. No details on the terms of the loans were available. The electricity generated by the power plant was set to be sold to the state-owned distribution company ENEE. The power purchase contract was signed in January 2014.
