Description
Description | The project will upgrade the water treatment plant in the Pays Plat First Nation in Ontario. The work will: replace the control systems (SCADA/PLC); install analyzers, an ultraviolet disinfection system and standby chlorine dosing pumps with automatic switch-over capability; replace the diesel fire pump motor with an electric motor to eliminate the risk of water contamination from diesel fuel; and replace the sand filter, low and high lift pumps, and distribution system valves. In addition, the intake and outflow of the water treatment plant will be inspected and the reservoir and water distribution valves cleaned for the first time in 23 years. The project will improve the treatment and quality of drinking water, help prevent system failure and extend the life of the asset. |
