Information Irrigation and CAD-TG has come up with Peddavagu [Neelwai] Irrigation Project with a ticket size of 203.74 INR Crores. This project in Irrigation sub-sector involves The current status of the project is Notice to Proceed and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project The Nilwai Project, a medium irrigation project, is situated across Peddavagu in Godavari basin near Nilwai village 68km from Mancherial town in Mancherial district of Telangana [erstwhile Adilabad]. Nearly 20 numbers of villages in Vemanpalli and Kotapalli mandals in Mancherial district are benefitted by this project. This project has been included under Accelerated Irrigation Benefitted Programme [AIBP] in the year of 2006-07. It envisages construction of head works comprising earthen dam of length 4.185 km, weir of length 340m with a maximum flood discharge capacity of 1470 cumec, left flank and right flank regulators. The canal system comprises of left bank canal of length 15.1 km to irrigate an ayacut of 3000 ha and right bank canal of length 15.1 km to irrigate an ayacut of 2260 ha. The project on completion will create ultimate irrigation potential of 5260 ha [13000acre] and drinking water facility to a population of 22000 persons. The project was cleared in the 87th meeting of Technical Advisory Committee held on 17.11.2006. The Planning Commission accorded investment clearance to the project for the estimated cost of Rs.90.50 crore at 2004-05 price level vide its letter No.20[1]/2006-WR dated 12.2.2007. State Government has approved the latest revised estimated cost of the project as Rs. 216.47 crore with deviation II vide proceedings of Chief Engineer [P], Adilabad Proc.No. CE[P]/ADB/DCE/DEE2/AEE2/NILWAI/2020, dated: 22.12.2020 of +2.4371 percent excess over the revised Technical sanction approval of Rs. 211.32 crore at 2010-11 price level vide GoMs No. 1072 dated 20.12.2016. This project has been included under AIBP during the year of 2006-07. The proposed date of completion of the project is 31.12.2023.
