Description

Description

The project involves the expansion and reconstruction of a three-mile stretch of Pellicano Drive from Joe Battle Boulevard east to Darrington Road/Berryville Street in Far East El Paso. The original plan was to create a six-lane divided roadway with raised medians, concrete pavement, curb and gutter, sidewalks, landscaping, safety lighting, storm drainage, signing, and striping. The project was stalled due to the bankruptcy of the contractor J.A.R. Concrete. A pending agreement could restart the work on the westbound lanes leading to Loop 375, with $6 million from vehicle registration fees allocated to resume construction. The project is divided into two phases, with the first phase focusing on the westbound lanes from Aircoupe Way to Loop 375 and the second phase including completion of the eastbound and westbound segments and additional amenities.
