Description | The project entails the construction of a water treatment plant with a capacity of 115 cubic meters per day in Nagpur. The concession was awarded by the city municipality, Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) on a DBO basis to Veolia Water India for a period of 12 years. Information on contract award method was unavailable. The project cost increased from USD $4.4 million (INR 300 million) to USD $7.5 million (INR 500 million) because of delays in construction. The project will receive capital subsidy of USD $3.1 million(INR 200 million) from the state and central government. Veolia will contribute the remaining amount in equity and recoup the entire cost from NMC through the life of the project. NMC would also pay operation and maintenance fees of USD $4.4 million (INR 300 million) over a period of 10 years.
