Description | The City of Pendleton completed a pioneering 240-kilowatt solar photovoltaic canopy system at its Wastewater Treatment and Resource Recovery Facility. The solar canopy is expected to generate 325,000 kilowatt-hours annually, offsetting about 30% of the facility's energy consumption. The project was delivered through an Energy Savings Performance Contract with Ameresco, funded by state grants, utility incentives, and city resources. Plans include adding a battery energy storage system to further reduce operational costs as part of a multiphase infrastructure improvement initiative. |
