Description | Petronas Gas Bhd (PetGas) is working with the Economy Ministry to update the Gas Supply Act 1993, the Electricity Supply Act 1990, and related laws to tighten control over activities along its 2,623km Peninsular Gas Utilisation pipeline network. This is in response to a pipeline rupture in Putra Heights caused by soil subsidence. The updates aim to allow early intervention, project review, and stopping of works that pose risks to communities or pipelines. PetGas is also securing seats on state planning committees to enhance oversight. |
