Description

Description

The Penn Medicine Princeton Cancer Center in Plainsboro, New Jersey, designed by Shepley Bulfinch, is a comprehensive cancer care facility that integrates radiation, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, hormone, and integrative therapies with advanced diagnostic imaging. The 150,000-square-foot center targets LEED Gold certification and incorporates sustainable features such as green roofs, rain gardens, energy recovery systems, and a prefabricated high-performance envelope with triple-glazed, bird-safe glass and terra cotta. The project includes more than 40 exam rooms, 30 infusion chairs, two linear accelerators, a completed 6-story parking garage, and a planned imaging center. It is the largest expansion of Penn Medicine since 2012 and aims to reduce operational carbon emissions by 50% by 2030 and achieve net-zero operational carbon emissions by 2042.
