Pennsylvania Rural Broadband Expansion

planned

Pennsylvania is receiving hundreds of millions of dollars to bring high-speed internet to rural communities, aiming to connect homes, schools, farms, and small businesses that have been left behind. The project faces challenges due to outdated labor classifications inflating costs and limiting progress. Legislation is being introduced to clarify prevailing wage requirements and create job classifications that reflect the actual work on broadband projects to ensure efficient use of federal funding.
