The proposed project at the existing Penticton Community Recreation Centre will upgrade HVAC equipment and heat recovery, and will improve pool heat retention. The project will reduce natural gas and water use, reduce the facility’s greenhouse gas emissions by up to 60%, and improve occupant comfort. The project works will include: - air-source heat pumps; - water-source heat pump to preheat domestic hot water; - replace domestic water heaters with high-efficiency condensing units; - repurpose existing heat-recovery coils for outdoor air preheating; - addition of additive to improve boiler loop efficiency; - liquid pool cover; - low-flow water fixtures; and - mechanical, electrical, control/monitoring, signage, and other related works and appurtenances.
