Description | Penzasvyazinform is the local telecommunications service provider for the Penza region in Central Chernozemny. The company provides local telephone service, as well as national and international service, the latter two through Rostelecom. The company started to be privatized in 1993, after the formation of Svyazinvest, the national holding company. Svyazinform held 38% of the common shares and 51% of the voting shares by 1998. The rest of the company stock was held by small investors and employees. The company owned 360,700 access lines by 1998. Became a branch of JSC VolgaTelecom in November 2002. |
