Description

Description

MoLo Hubs goes beyond existing mobility hub projects. It aims to develop implement user centric logistics services solutions at urban mobility hubs to reduce urban traffic at the same time increase attractiveness of mobility hubs. Challengers: urban traffic emissions; city congestions; HAM pilots neighbourhood collection points as an intermediate between collection at source; recycling yards, where people can dispose of further fractions of waste, such as small electronic devices, domestic use oil etc. at mobility hubs. AMS will set up a transfer facility for service logistics craftsmen at a mobility hub, enabling a change from vans to e.g. LEV or cargo bikes. This pilot will find out what the consequences of using a hub for craftsmen are in terms of time effort, service level for citizens, costs GHG savings. MEC will explore different options of concentrating e-commerce logistics, mobility other services in mobility hubs as integrated development of pick-up points. Developed solutions shall activate synergies; thus enable a boost for the attractiveness of mobility hubs; the use of car-free parcel pick-ups in the city. AAL will set up 30 parcel lockers that can be used to send, receive parcels; to collect waste like hazardous waste, returnable bottles packaging. The pilot will focus on reducing empty runs by vans; deploy a social-economic dimension. BOR has different site options to implement a pilot case regarding different functionalities such as lockers, pick-up points for e-commerce or return fraction handling. Based on the expected findings gained during the exchange with project partners, a decision on the location the functionalities of use will be made in the project. See annex for pilot visualisations. The project will benefit from different pilots deployed through a joint methodology, a joint learning journey by focussing on people-centric solutions creating an impact for mobility transition towards net zero carbon economy in the NSR. Overall Objective: Reduce urban traffic by initiating and prototypically implement new convenient logistics service offers at urban mobility hubs. Five pilots will make an important contribution to reduce urban traffic give an insight into how user-centred logistics services can be designed at urban mobility hubs.
