Description

Description

This project reduces erosion and sediment delivery into Mark West Creek by implementing erosion control and prevention treatments on rural roads within the preserve. The project would prevent and/or reduce long term sediment delivery to Mark West Creek in the lower Russian River system and significantly improve and protect water quality and salmonid habitat in these watersheds. The project will implement treatment on 32 sites that include 24 stream crossings and 8 designated as “other” that consist of ditch relief culverts, point-source springs and miscellaneous discharge points for surface flow from segments of hydrologically connected roads. Treatment of these sites would prevent an estimated 3,094 cubic yards of future sediment delivery.
