"To be realised nearly 80 years following the Nazi occupation of Europe, “Persecution through their Eyes” (PTTE) is a proposed travelling exhibition and youth event series that will focus on sharing different perspectives of those individuals and groups persecuted by the Nazi totalitarian regime during World War II. Organised by a consortium that includes the LRE Foundation, Ośrodek ""Brama Grodzka - Teatr NN"" (Grodzka Gate ‐ NN Theatre) Centre (Lublin, PL), Stiftung Gedenkstätten Buchenwald und Mittelbau-Dora (Weimar, DE), Nationaal Monument Kamp Vught / “Camp Vught” (Vught, NL) and Liberation Route Italia (Lucca, IT), this project will feature diverse perspectives of those persecuted by the Nazi totalitarian dictatorship that included among others, Jews, Roma/Sinti, political prisoners, homosexuals, prisoners of war, civilians, and resistance fighters. The project’s main goal is to deepen a multi-perspective, European transnational understanding of this history and to demonstrate the impacts it had on minority groups, communities, and countries across Europe during the war. In addition, it will link this dark chapter of European history to the post-war justice and reconciliation processes that included the development of modern human rights protections in Europe. To accomplish this goal, the project consortium will organise a travelling temporary historical exhibition, online exhibition, 4 youth events, 1 international workshop for WWII educators and stakeholders, and social media awareness campaign that will reach 1.400 direct participants in NL, DE, IT, PL and 320.000 indirect participants across Europe."
