The FC measure aims to enable Libyan children to attend school and to cushion the psychological stress of everyday life in war. Specifically, up to 10,000 children in need of support in the area of education are to be reached. To this end, schools are to be rehabilitated, teachers are to be trained, the relevant learning materials are to be made available and leisure activities are to be carried out. In the area of child protection, care services are to be created for 30,000 children and a further 9,300 children affected by (sexual) violence are to benefit from therapy services. In the Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) component, measures are being carried out to improve the water supply and the rehabilitation of sanitary facilities, which is to improve the situation of up to 20,000 people. The measures have been implemented by UNICEF since December 2017. Germany has made a contribution of EUR 9.8 million for this purpose.
