Description | The Peshawar Northern Bypass project is a 30km road initiative aimed at completing the Ring Road around Peshawar, the provincial capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The project has been delayed for 17 years due to slow releases from the federal Public Sector Development Programme and other issues. The KP government offered Rs4 billion bridge financing to the federal government to complete the project by June 30, 2026, but the federal government has indicated the project cannot be completed by that date and may be finished by September 2026. The project has seen multiple revisions and cost escalations from Rs3 billion to Rs27 billion. |
