The Petitcodiac River Restoration Project - Bridge and Channel Construction, is the third phase of the Petitcodiac River Causeway Project that was initiated in 2008. The Project is located on the Petitcodiac River causeway segment of Route 114 that connects Route 112 in the Town of Riverview with Route 15 and Route 106 in the City of Moncton. The project involves: the replacement of the existing river gate structure and the adjacent section of the causeway with a 240 m steel girder bridge; the realignment of the roadway approach segments of the causeway and ramp connections in Riverview to align with the new bridge deck at a higher elevation; and the decommissioning of the existing causeway gate structure and redirection of the River channel.
