The project involves the construction of a new container terminal in Aliaga, near Izmir on the Aegean Coast of Turkey.The project will support maritime freight transport as an alternative to other transport modes and will thus contribute to transport sustainability as well as to climate change mitigation. The scope of the project includes a 700 m long berthing and loading-unloading dock, the construction of a container stockpile, dismantling of a part of the existing breakwater and extending it to the west, operation and maintenance buildings, infrastructure and landscaping works, and railway connection works.
