Description | The Phase-2 Matawinie Mine is an open pit mine and concentrator planned to produce an average nominal annual production of 106,000 tonnes per year of natural graphite concentrate. It is part of an integrated natural graphite production project by Nouveau Monde Graphite Inc. located in Saint-Michel-des-Saints, Quebec, Canada. The project includes collaboration with the Atikamekw First Nation and local community, and aims to create 150 full-time jobs during operation and up to 450 jobs during peak construction. The project is recognized as a Major Project of National Interest by the Government of Canada to support and accelerate its development. |
