Description

Description	The project involves the development of a 190km expressway linking Cambodia’s capital, Phnom Penh, to Sihanoukville, site of the nation’s only deep-sea port, under a build, operate, transfer (BOT) framework. It is intended to offer a shorter and faster route between Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville than the existing two-lane 230km National Road 4. The road will have at least two lanes in each direction and an average width of 24 metres. Users will have to pay toll charges. Construction is anticipated to begin in the summer of 2019 and take four years to complete. National Road 4 will not be dismantled. Most of the new toll expressway will be built to its east.
