Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital Medical Tower and Expansion

completed

Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, originally founded in 1911, expanded over the years into a sprawling health care system. The hospital complex includes a main building with nine patient floors, two adjoining wings for outpatient services, and a new trauma tower. The hospital occupies more than five square blocks at the center of Albany, Georgia, and has acquired nearly 100 surrounding properties, some converted into facilities such as an energy plant, parking lots, housing for cancer patients, and a day care center for employees.
