Information North Western Railway [NWR] - I has come up with Phulera-Digana Doubling with a ticket size of 702 INR Crores. This project in Railway Track sub-sector involves The current status of the project is - and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project More demand of passenger services has been received from various sectors. Goods traffic shall also increase by four to five trains each way keeping in view development plan of port and Indian economy. Kandla port and Mundra port are the two most important port on the western coast which are the closest to the northern hinterland. They also happen to be the fastest growing port of the country. This route will be feeder route for DFC and therefore doubling of this route will be useful so that traffic to and fro is 108percentage with maintenance block and 94percentage without maintenance block. Doubling will give momentum, growth, pace to the Indian economy, as precious saving occurs in term of economic development of the area, as railway is prima transporter of bulk and long distance freight traffic in the country, therefore doubling of Phulera to Degana is required.
