Description | In partnership with the City of Atlanta’s Renew/TSPLOST Program, ADID is planning improvements to Piedmont Avenue between Martin Luther King Junior Drive and North Avenue. In September 2019, the Mayor’s Office announced a two-year, $5M plan to bring accelerated safety redesigns to several Atlanta streets. The Piedmont Avenue Safety Improvement Project is included in the rapid implementation strategy. ADID is partnering with the City to improve the corridor for people walking, biking, taking transit, and using shareable mobility devices. The project will: Retain existing one-way traffic operations Repurpose one travel lane for a protected one-way bike lane Patch the pavement where the new facility will be installed Connect to a complete street project on Piedmont Avenue in Midtown |
