Total Project Cost is $7,024,000.00, project will be constructed in two PHASES, (1) PHASE 1 for the TRACK Roadbed from original ground to Top of Sub Ballast at an estimated cost of $2,973,351.00 with $1,500,000.00 FHWA Funds as the GDOT Share of the Project and $1,473,351.00 Norfolk Southern Share, (2) PHASE 2 for the TRACK WORK from Top of Sub Ballast to Top of Rail at an estimated cost of $4,050,649.00 Paid 100% by the Railroad (Norfolk Southern corporation). Phase 1 Bid came in at $1,714,813.38 and GDOT Share (80%) is $1,371,850.70 and Norfolk Southern Share (20%) is $342,962.68. As GDOT liable up to $1,500,000 Project set $1,875,000 with NS at $375,000.
