Description
Description | The aim of the program is to improve the living conditions and social cohesion of the population in selected post-conflict municipalities (PDET) in Colombia. This is to be achieved through targeted investments to repair the public tertiary road network, measures to strengthen the Colombian institutions involved in the implementation at national and local level, and consulting services. The target communities are the three municipalities of Morelia, San José del Fragua and Valparaíso in the Caquetá department, which have been particularly affected by the decades-long violent conflict in Colombia. The investments were prioritized as part of a participatory planning process, supported by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ). The program sponsor is the Fondo Colombia en Paz (FCP). The Agencia de Renovación del Territorio (ART) and the mayor's offices and community-based organizations in the target communities also play an important role in implementing the program. The German Federal Government has provided FC funds of around EUR 11.9 million to finance the programme. Two further phases of the programme are planned. |
