Description

Description

USA Rare Earth has been selected by the US Department of Energy for potential $19.3 million funding to support the development of a pilot-scale rare earth element (REE) separation plant. The project aims to advance technology for REE processing from domestic resources and supports the development of pre-commercial separation capacity in the United States. USA Rare Earth is building a fully integrated rare earth and permanent magnet value chain across multiple countries, with commercial production at its Round Top Mountain project in Texas expected to commence in late 2028. The company also plans to construct a Hydrometallurgy demonstration facility in Colorado by 2026, which will operate five solvent-extraction circuits continuously for 2,000-4,000 hours. The DOE funding is likely directed towards this demonstration facility.
