Pilot Uzbek Renewable Hydrogen Project

This project entails the construction of an integrated renewable hydrogen production facility, which includes a 20 MW electrolyser powered by a 52 MW extension of Bash wind power plant. The goal is to produce approximately 3,000 tonnes of renewable hydrogen annually. The electrolyser will be located in Chirchiq City, Tashkent region, and the wind power plant is in the Gijduvon district, Bukhara region, Uzbekistan. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has provided financing of $21.2 million for the project, and another $25 million loan comes from the German Development Agency (DEG, part of KfW Group). The project company responsible for implementing the project is ACWA Power UKS Green H2 LLC, sponsored by ACWA Power Company and Joint Stock Company UzKimyoSanoat.
