Description
Description | The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has implemented a 24x7 water supply project in Pimpri-Chinchwad city under the Central government's AMRUT scheme. The project was rolled out in two phases covering 40% and 60% of the city respectively, focusing on new pipelines, regularising connections, and reducing water leakage and theft. The first phase covered densely populated areas and resulted in a 10-15% reduction in water leakage. Despite a six-year delay in state government funding, PCMC funded the project completion and payments to contractors from its own treasury. |
