Description | In May 2004, Panriver Investment, a subsidiary of Hong Kong based Panva Gas Holding Ltd, acquired 90% of stated-owned Sichuan Pingchang Gas Company for an undisclosed amount from the local government. The remaining 10% was owned by state-owned Construction Investment Development of Kiangkou city. As part of transaction, Sichuan Pingchang Gas Company was renamed as Pingchang Panva Gas Company and was granted a 30 year concession to build and operate the natural gas pipeline network in Pingchang county. Total investment was RMB 8 million. The county was part of Bazhong city in Sichuan province, and had a population of 890,000. Hong Kong based Panva Gas Holding Ltd was a publicly traded company in the Hong Kong stock exchange and was principally focused on commercialization of natural gas and liquefied petroleum in China mainland.
