Description | The PNG project aims to supply piped natural gas to households in Belagavi city and district. The project was launched to provide an alternative to LPG cylinders by distributing natural gas through pipelines. The Central Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board assigned Mega City Gas Distribution Private Ltd to implement the project starting in 2017, with work beginning in 2018. The first phase targeted 50,000 homes, but after seven years, only 37,603 connections have been made, with 1,800 connections pending due to challenges such as road excavation. |
