Description | Metrowater is planning to supply piped water to about 1.2 lakh residents in village panchayats such as Moulivakkam, Iyyapanthangal, and Paraniputhur in Chennai's western suburbs by laying a 10-km pipeline from the 530-MLD Chembarambakkam treatment plant. The project includes a 1,200-mm-diameter pipeline coming from Chembarambakkam through Poonamalle High Road, aiming to supply about 136 MLD of water. The work is scheduled to begin by the third week of August 2025, with a deadline in October 2025. The scheme will eventually be expanded to nearby areas such as Kolapakkam and Gerugambakkam. |
