Description
Description | Pizzo K-8 school, located on the University of South Florida campus, is facing closure due to the expiration and non-renewal of its lease agreement with the university. The Hillsborough County School Board voted to close the school after failing to reach an agreement on lease terms. Families and teachers have formed 'Project Pizzo' to fight the closure and seek solutions to keep the school open. The school building is approximately 30 years old and requires significant maintenance, which the school district is responsible for under the lease terms. Discussions between the school district and USF have been ongoing, with potential meetings planned to explore options. |
