Plant Vogtle Nuclear Expansion

Plant Vogtle nuclear power plant in Georgia has completed its expansion with Units 3 and 4 now operational, making it the largest clean energy generator in the U.S. The expansion cost around $35 billion, more than double initial estimates. Georgia Power plans further nuclear uprates at Vogtle Units 1 & 2 and the Hatch plant to add approximately 112 MWe of capacity between 2028 and 2034, and new nuclear capacity could be selected in long-term planning scenarios as early as the late 2030s.
