Description

Description

This project is Phase 1 of a two-phase project to decommission the North wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) and conveying the flow down to the South WWTP for treatment, in the District of Tobique Valley, New Brunswick. The North WWTP is currently not operating within regulatory guidelines for effluent quality, and residents have commonly reported odour complaints during the summer months. This Phase 1 project will consist of conveying the flow to the South WWTP. The scope of work includes constructing a new wastewater lift station and generator at the Everett lagoon and constructing 320 metres of new gravity and overflow sewer piping to connect to the Everett Lane force main. This project will divert 104 cubic metres of wastewater from disposal per day. The eventual Phase 2 project will decommission the North WWTP and upgrade the force main near the South WWTP. This project will result in increased capacity to treat and manage wastewater and improved effluent quality.
