The Platôs de Guadalupe Public Irrigation Perimeter, located in the municipality of Guadalupe, in the central-western region of the State of Piauí, on the banks of the Boa Esperança Dam reservoir, 360 km from Teresina, was qualified under the Partnership Program for PPI investments, together with 6 other hydro-agricultural and irrigation projects, through Resolution No. 216, of December 16, 2021, endorsed by Decree No. 11,041, of April 12, 2022. The Project has the potential to irrigate 13,434 hectares, by capturing water directly from the lake at the Boa Esperança Dam, on the Parnaíba River. Of this total, 3,196 correspond to the 1st Stage of the project, which is already in operation. For the 2nd Stage, the agricultural exploitation of 10,238 hectares is planned. Access to the project area is mainly via the BR-343 highway, which connects Teresina to Floriano. The 2nd Stage will share part of the collective irrigation infrastructure that is implemented and in operation, serving the 1st Stage of the project, including the approach canal, the EBP-Sul, the main pipeline, the main canal 2 and the buffer reservoir. Collection infrastructure, conduction channels, secondary pumping station, pressurization station, water intake and distribution systems, drainage system and road system must be implemented.
