Description	The Esplechin (B) and Wannehain (F) areas have been flooded several times over the past years. The local authorities decided to jointly examine what measures they could take to protect the houses in the area. The floods are caused by storm water runoff, but also by other factors, such as the area-specific geographic relief, agricultural practices, drainage, ditches that cannot handle so much the water. With this project, the partners want to reflect on global and integrated flood protection measures for the Esplechin and Lamain (B) and the Wannehain, Camphin-en-Pévele and Bourghelles (F) areas. A preliminary study defines priority actions, while taking into account the ecological and landscape characteristics of the area. In a second phase, the partners organise preventive and curative actions to limit the impact of floods, while bringing an ecological and landscape added value to the territory.
