Description | The PM Ekta Mall scheme aims to provide dedicated retail space for each state and Union Territory in India to promote indigenous products under the 'One District, One Product' (ODOP) initiative, including Geographical Indication (GI)-tagged goods and local handicrafts. The government has approved projects in 27 states for the construction of these malls, with a total allocation of nearly ₹4,796 crore in the fiscal year 2023-24. The malls are to be located preferably in state capitals or financial/tourism hubs to offer better visibility and provide artisans and producers a permanent marketing platform in prime urban locations. |
