Description
Description | The Kerala government has suspended all procedures related to the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India (PM SHRI) scheme following strong objections from the Communist Party of India (CPI), a key ally in the Left Democratic Front (LDF) coalition. A seven-member cabinet subcommittee has been formed to examine the scheme in detail, and all related procedures will remain frozen until the committee submits its report. Kerala will write to the Centre seeking relaxations in the scheme's conditions, calling certain provisions unacceptable. The Education Department has been instructed to halt the process of finalising schools to be brought under the project. |
