Description

Description

NEXTCHEM has been awarded a site-specific feasibility study by Röhm for a chemical plastic recycling plant to recycle polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) scraps at Röhm's production site in Worms, Germany. The plant will use NEXTCHEM's proprietary NXRe™ technology to depolymerize PMMA scraps into ultra-pure recycled methyl methacrylate (r-MMA) with virgin-like quality, with a capacity of 5,000 tons per year, fully integrated into Röhm's existing PMMA production infrastructure. The project aims to reduce the carbon footprint of MMA and PMMA by over 90% compared to conventional methods and supports Röhm's goal to eliminate incineration and landfill of PMMA waste by 2030.
