Description | The Pointe du Bois Renewable Energy Project (the Project) consists of the replacement of eight hydroelectric generating units that are at the end of their economic life and will result in the increased generation of clean energy. The new units will increase capacity on the Manitoba Hydro system by 52 Megawatts (MW) and increase the annual amount of clean, low cost, renewable energy, generated at the Pointe du Bois Generating Station. Additional transmission capacity will be constructed to enable the 52 MW of generation to flow into Manitoba Hydro’s electricity grid. |
