Pojeon-jip Residential House

Pojeon-jip, or 'the house that embraces the field,' is a residential project located on a 1,300-square-meter former farmland site in Gyeonggi-do, Korea. Designed by sukchulmok in collaboration with BRBB, the house integrates intersecting volumes of differing materials to create layered visual depth while maintaining privacy and spatial enclosure. The project is planned in two phases, with the current structure accommodating an elderly couple and a guest room, and a future mirrored addition planned to support multi-generational living. The design integrates fence lines and exterior walls into one continuous form to enhance enclosure without compromising natural views or light. The house directly faces an actively cultivated vegetable garden, supporting a mode of living that combines agricultural practice and domestic life.
