Polar LNG Nearshore Liquefaction Facility at Prudhoe Bay

Polar LNG is developing an $8 to $9 billion nearshore liquefaction facility directly at Prudhoe Bay to export LNG from Alaska's North Slope. The project aims to bypass the traditional costly pipeline by eliminating the need for an 800-mile pipeline and building a gravity-based liquefaction structure near the gas source. The facility targets an initial capacity of 7 million tonnes per annum with potential expansion to 21 mtpa, aiming for first LNG exports by 2029 or 2030.
