Description | The Andhra Pradesh government has cancelled the tenders for the Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the Polavaram–Banakacherla Link Project and is considering a fresh plan to divert Godavari waters from Polavaram for the Godavari–Cauvery interlink project. The new plan involves channeling water from Polavaram to a proposed reservoir near Gollapalli in Prakasam district, then towards Somasila and the Cauvery basin. Telangana officials have raised concerns about the project affecting farmers and submerging parts of Telangana.
