Description

Description	This project involves the construction of a waste management and waste to energy facility, located in city of Harare, Zimbabwe. The capacity of the facility would reach up to 1000 tonnes of waste per day in 2026 and generate 22MW of electricity. The 30-year Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT) contract was awarded by the Ministry of Local Government and Public Works to Geogenix BV. The project company is called Geo Pomona Waste Management Private Limited. The implementation of the project will contribute to Zimbabwe’s objectives of diversifying its electricity mix and decentralizing power generation. The total investment amount is $344.05 million and the financial agreement was approved 15 February, 2022.
