Sector: Environment • Location: Los Angeles, California, United States
Source: LAist
Artist Doug Rosenberg installed a guerrilla pop-up wetland in the Los Angeles River by arranging large rocks in concentric circles to trap sediment and support plant and animal life. The wetland spans 10 by 20 feet in the middle of the 100-foot-wide river channel and serves as a visual statement and call to action for environmental good through low-tech, small-scale ecological art.
